On the BVIs 2005, Northern Child achieved the following results:
2nd in class at the BVIs Sailing Festival
3rd in class at the BVIs Spring Regatta
First Prize for the highest placed Swan yacht

On the BVIs 2004, Northern Child achieved the following results:
2nd in class at the BVI Sailing Festival
2nd in Class at the BVIs Spring Regatta

From its beginning in 1973, the BVIs Spring Regatta has grown in size and competition with continuing support from racing enthusiasts around the world. The regatta is now considered as one of the premier annual racing events. It has developed a reputation for ‘serious competition and serious partying’. Based in one of the most picturesque island groups of the Caribbean, the week long racing/cruising events are two great events which include three days of destination cruising and fun racing, leading up to the main three day regatta starting on the Friday. It will be Northern Child’s 4th participation in the BVIs Sailing Festival and BVIs Spring Regatta and the crew considers it to the one of the best Caribbean regattas of the winter season.

Sailing Festival (31st March  to 3rd April 2008)
Northern Child came 2nd in class in 2004 and 2005

Northern Child will take part in the Sailing Festival and take this opportunity to train during these 3 days prior to the BVIs Spring Regatta. The Sailing Festival (open to single-handed, double-handed, family crew and fully-crewed yachts) includes a race to and from Bitter End Yacht Club, Virgin Gorda.

BVIs Spring Regatta (4th to 6th April 2008)
Northern Child came 2nd in Class in 2004 and 3rd in class in 2005

The BVIs Spring Regatta is predominantly windward/leeward courses, which involves great teamwork. There are 2 races a day commencing at 10am and finishing at approx. 4pm . The courses are set in the Sir Francis Drake Channel on the South side of Tortola , in protective and relatively flat water. The focal point for the social activities of the event is the regatta village in Nanny Cay. It includes booths, bars and various food stalls. The party starts as soon as the racing stops and the entertainment includes live music every night and culminates in the Regatta Awards Ceremony on Sunday afternoon after racing.

When racing with individuals on board, our objectives is to provide each guest with a great time racing in the Caribbean . At least 2 permanent crew will be able to ensure that the racing is safe and that all personal requirements are met. They will be able to teach the crew as little or as much as they want. All the crew will be fully involved in all the manoeuvres.
