Exterior design
The deck layout is clean, uncluttered and designed for easy sail handling and maximum control. The dual cockpit configuration provides separate working zones when racing and comfort with security while cruising. Northern Child has a traditional two spreader masthead rig, with babystay, inner forestay, running backstays and checkstays, controlled by a Navtec Hydraulic system. Teak decks are 12mm thick and were replaced in 1998. The hull is painted awlgrip white with a blue Nautor Swan trimline.
