RORC/JOG races - 2008 summer season

Weekend races and offshore races - For individuals or groups

Northern Child is a regular participant in the RORC offshore racing programme and has competed successfully in many races, like the RORC Cowes-Dinard race, the Rolex Fastnet race, the RORC Cherbourg race, etc...

Weekend races are a great opportunity to have a sailing break, enjoy the excitement of big boat yacht racing and visit some different and interesting places. Races to France or the Channel Islands consist of a night sail racing across the channel, a day or half day ashore with a celebratory meal ashore, and a cruise back to our UK base.

RORC Cowes-Dinard 2008
Date: 10th to 14th July 2008
Organised by the Royal Ocean Racing Club in association with UNCL, Yacht Club de Dinard, Société Nautique de la Baie de St. Malo, and the Royal Yacht Squadron, this RORC race is a classic in the RORC calendar. It is a great combination of racing and cruising and gives the opportunity to visit St Malo and have a nice French dinner ashore on the Saturday.

Crew dinner at a local restaurant

The 165 miles course from Cowes to St Malo via Les Casquets and Les Hanois should take between 22 and 26 hours, so Northern Child should arrive in St Malo around lunch time on Saturday morning
