Grenada Sailing Festival - 30 January to 3 February 2009

                              Grenada Sailing Festival

LaSource Grenada Sailing Festival is taking place in Grenada, in the South of the Caribbean in late January. This is the first Caribbean regatta of the Caribbean season. The Festival has been getting more popular but it remains small and friendly, with around 30 to 40 boats taking part. The event is probably not as competitive as some other Caribbean Regattas. However it is extremely well organised, very friendly and has a fantastic social program. It is often described as the most fun regattas of the Caribbean season.

The proposed itinerary is the following:

Tuesday 27th January

Crew meets on Northern Child in Grenada.

Wednesday 28th January
to Friday 30th January

Training will give the crew the chance to learn to race Northern Child and the most efficient and safe way to carry out manoeuvres. The training will take place in the area of the regatta in South Grenada

On Friday evening, the LaSource Grenada Festival starts with a welcome party and firework

Saturday 31st January to Tuesday 3rd February

Four days of race series on varying courses off Grenada’s Southern Coast

Entertainment in the evening and a Gala Prize and Farewell Party on the Tuesday evening

Wednesday 4th February

Crew departs Northern Child
