Les Voiles de St Tropez, previously known as the Nioulargue, is taking place from the 26th September to the 4th October 2008 and consists of 2 days training and 5 days of racing around the cans along the Riviera coast. The weather is still very nice at this time of the year in the Cote d’Azur and this regatta attracts some of the most prestigious yachts in the world, incl. a huge selection of classic wooden yachts and some of the most advanced modern yachts, incl. the Maxis. St Tropez is one of the most beautiful regatta venues in the world - the scenery is breathtaking, the social side very well organised and Northern Child will be amongst the action as she will be berthed in the new marina in St Tropez.

The proposed itinerary is as follows:

Friday, 26th September

Crew meets on Northern Child in St Tropez marina
Crew receives a comprehensive safety brief

Saturday, 27th September

First training day and a chance for all the crew to practice the basic racing   manoeuvres, incl. tacking, sail trim, spinnaker use and gybing.

Sunday, 28th September

Second training day and a further chance to practice all manoeuvres safely.

Monday, 29th September to Saturday, 4th October

Races are organised on the Mon, Tues, Weds, Fri and Sat with Thurs as a lay day. Courses are outside the bay and are either one long course or two shorter courses per day.

Sunday, 5th October

Crew departs Northern Child.
