Northern Child offers long ocean passages across the Atlantic: 1 - The ARC rally, at the end of November of each year, starts in Las Palmas and goes to the Caribbean. This voyage is a 2,700 miles downwind trip, with a lot of use of the spinnaker. For more information and to read Northern Child daily log, please click on the ARC button on the left. 2 - The return transatlantic in May starts in Antigua, North Caribbean, and crosses to the UK via the Azores. This voyage is primarily 4,000 miles of upwind sailing, with the main emphasis on weather interpretation and routing. Click on the 'Transat May' button on the left for more information about this transatlantic trip. Both transatlantics are a great opportunity to experience and learn about ocean passages, to accumulate miles and to develop very rewarding teamwork. The Captain is a Yachtmaster Instructor Ocean with 140,000 NM logged, and is keen to pass on his knowledge of ocean cruising.
