On deck

On deck there are two cockpits, one amidships in connection with the companionway, and one aft for steering with a spacious bridgedeck in between. The deck layout is clean, uncluttered and designed for easy sail handling and maximum control. The dual cockpit configuration provides separate working zones when racing and comfort with security while cruising. Northern Child has a traditional two spreader masthead rig, with babystay, inner forestay and new running backstays. A cluster of 16 winches are grouped mainly around the forward cockpit. The coachroof has been re-organised with new sets of Winches and jammers. Double genoa sheet tracks are installed each side, plus short staysail tracks forward.
