Julian is a Captain Class 4 and a RYA Ocean Yachtmaster Instructor.

Julian started dinghy sailing as a child and joined the British Army at 18.
Whilst serving, he qualified as an RYA Yachtmaster Offshore. At the age of 25, he decided to
dedicate himself to sailing and joined a sea school in Jersey, where he worked
as an
instructor and then Principal. Over the following 10 years he gained a unique in
depth knowledge of the Channel Islands, Brittany and Normandy.
During this time, Julian gained his RYA Instructor and Ocean
Qualifications, which he maintains up to date. During the winter months he
undertook many ocean deliveries and sailed extensively in the Caribbean,
Atlantic and Pacific. In 1999, Julian trained for 4 months at Warsash
Nautical College and gained the Captain Class 4, Yachts, qualification. |

Having worked in many different areas of the sailing world and seen
things from the Captains point of view, Julian decided to develop a charter
business. As a mad lover
of Swan yachts, he decided to base the charter business on a Swan 51.
After extensive experience at sea on many different types of yacht including
Nautors Swans, he was convinced that where it matters, in the middle of an
ocean, a Swan was the boat best suited to the task.
Julian is very positive, even in the middle of a gale in the
middle of nowhere, and always manages to chill everybody out. His passion is being on the water,
warm if possible, and passing on his experiences of sailing.

RORC/JOG races, 2 Cowes Weeks, 2 St Maarten Heineken Regatta, 2 BVIs Spring
Regatta, etc...
Julian is also a passionate sport scuba diver and has explored many
incredible underwater
places, including lots of dive sites in the Caribbean. He has been diving for 20 years and is qualified
as a PADI Divemaster. Julian also has his Ships Captain Medical Certificate, updated in
1999.
