The RORC Caribbean 600 had its inaugural event in 2008

The RORC Caribbean 600 starts on the 22nd February 2010 from English Harbour, Antigua.

The RORC Caribbean 600 offers perhaps some of the best sailing in the world, the 605 nautical mile yacht race zigzags north as far as St Marten and as far south as Guadeloupe. It will be a tough test for the yachts, the navigators and the crews.

The RORC Caribbean 600 is designed to give a challenging offshore yacht race - something that has not been available in the Caribbean before - but is very much in demand. Only one of the rounding marks is not an island; the North Sails mark, off the South West tip of Barbuda. It should be a scenic and exciting race for every single participant.

Organised by the Royal Ocean Racing Club in association with the Antigua Yacht Club, the race in 2009 attracted a fleet of close to 30 boats, including some of the world's most prestigious yachts. With the largest being Peter Harrison's 115ft Farr designed, Sojana, skippered by Marc Fitzgerald. Swan's make up the biggest class: From Italy the new Swan 90, DSK, owned by Danilo Salsi to Wijnand Van den Boogard's Swan 51, Star Chaser, the smallest Swan of a majestic fleet. When racing with individuals on board, our objective is to provide each guest with a great time racing in the Caribbean
Northern Child is superbly equipped for racing and is maintained to the very highest standard. Northern Child has participated in Caribbean racing for the last 8 years. The two professional crew will train the crew to ensure that the racing is safe, fun and that each crew member is able to make a valuable contribution to the team effort. Although prior race or sailing experience is preferred, it is not essential. The 2 training days represent a great opportunity for each crew member to get familiar with the yacht and the racing manoeuvres.

The 2010 regatta will be opened to a group of sailors or individuals wishing to experience the thrilling experience of big boat racing.
