Northern Child was built in Pietesaari, Finland, by Nautor Swan, which are widely acclaimed to be the finest production sailing yachts in the world.
Nautor’s Swan yachts are renowned for their outstanding sailing abilities, their unfailing quality of construction and craftsmanship, their luxurious accommodation and their classic elegant lines.
Northern Child is one of naval architect German Frers’ outstanding all-round designs and shares the same performance pedigree of ‘Blizzard’, a famous 51ft Admiral’s Cup racer, except that Northern Child was also fitted with a lavish cruising interior and the hull sections were enlarged to accommodate the increase in displacement. Fast and easy to sail, she has four comfortable cabins sleeping up to 12 people. Northern Child is a fine balance between a racing and cruising yacht.
Northern Child was built in 1984 for an Italian owner, who has since become the owner of Nautor’s Swan. She was first kept in the Mediterranean as a family cruising boat and for some fun racing regattas such as the Swan World Cup.

The interior of Northern Child has been designed to offer our guests comfortable living quarters. Northern Child features 4 twin cabins. Each berth has an individual light and an individual ventilation fan. Each berth also has a lee cloth for use during heavy weather sailing.
1. Forward Cabin
Currently dedicated to sails and ropes, this area could transform to give 2 single berths and is reserved for the crew.
2. Twin Cabins
The starboard and port cabins are located forward of the saloon and have 2 single berths each. This is also where you can find one of Northern Child’s heads.
The saloon sits at the heart of the boat, offering a comfortable communal area which serves as both dinning room and a place to unwind after a days sailing. The u-shaped settee has ample space and can seat 10 people.
